For Jimmy

Come along and join us for our free entry family fun day on Sunday 3rd June 2018 at Bellamys Citroen, helping to raise money for the remarkable work at the ‘For Jimmy’ foundation, a charity that is very close to the hearts of the local community.

The ‘For Jimmy’ foundation was founded by his parents following the tragic event that occurred in May 2008, when Jimmy Mizen lost his life in an unprovoked attack in a bakery, close to our dealership. Since that day Jimmy’s parents, Barry and Margaret Mizen, have worked tirelessly to share the story of Jimmy, delivering programmes in schools and setting up safe havens for young people across south-east London.

Working with schools and police, they introduce kids to local businesses, who agree to be a “safe haven” for youngsters in trouble. Shopkeepers identified by a sticker on their window agree to pull down the shutters and keep kids safe while they call the police and parents in their time of need. Their Safe Haven project cut crime by 30% when it was launched in Liverpool in 2011 and is already up and running in Lewisham.

This year marks the 10 Year anniversary of the foundation, so in memory of Jimmy and in recognition in the importance of their work in our community, we’re hosting a fun-filled day for all the family including a BBQ, Bucking Bronco, Bouncy Castle, Music, Magician, Face Painting and much, much more to help raise funds that will ultimately help keep both the safe havens for the young people of London and the school programmes alive.

We will also have the ‘Jimmybus’ that we supplied to the charity in 2009 with us on the day, manned with a stand that will explain the work of the foundation.
